About the author

Brian Jacques (1939–2011) was a celebrated British author best known for creating the internationally acclaimed Redwall epic fantasy series, which features medieval-style worlds populated by brave, anthropomorphic animals. Before finding global success as a novelist, the Liverpool native led a colorful life working as a merchant seaman, truck driver, boxer, and BBC radio broadcaster. He originally wrote his debut novel for the blind children at a local school, eventually expanding it into a beloved 22-book saga that sold millions of copies worldwide.
